Braiding Technician

Plymouth Minnesota

1st shift

POSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for the making of braid-stock and replenishing inventory. Responsible in operating braiding machines in optimal condition. Documentation, data maintenance logs, ultrasonic clean, order confirmation, basic maintenance, and non-routine maintenance tasks as directed.


  • Works in braiding position with limited supervision
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Must use hearing protection aid when working in the braiding room
  • Must relate to the Safety procedure
  • Responsible for scheduling maintenance for braiders.
  • Complete maintenance logs on a weekly basis and reports to supervisor / manager.
  • Use of SAP in confirming work-orders and braid-stock inventory
  • Set up Braider on a daily basis as production needs.
  • Learn how to operate and maintain new equipment.
  • Maintain and repair fixtures
  • Perform basic maintenance as required on all equipment.
  • Must be able to work weekends to cover braiding
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ultra Sonic machine maintenance (refill alcohol )
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum 12 months experience as a level 3 operator required.
  • Experience with preventative and planned maintenance systems preferred.
  • Applicant must be mechanically inclined.
  • Proven ability in working with machinery

SPECIALIZED SKILLS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Additional preferred or required qualifications.

  • This position requires good communication skills and basic mathematics skills; and the ability to utilize a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or visual sample form.
  • Candidate must have ability to read prints, engineering specifications, and understand the braid-stock PPI.
  • Must be able to set-up Braider and perform tear down and changeovers.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend equipment manuals.
  • Must be able to operate machine shop bench grinder and drill press.
