Client Services Navigator

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs administrative activities including data entry, scheduling, patient registration, insurance verification, and reporting.
  • Answers incoming calls and responds to client inquiries by telephone, email, or fax within a call center environment.
  • Responsible for validating and updating patient's EMR chart.
  • Initiates the client's experience by gathering intake information and facilitating the transition to the appropriate internal resource.
  • Serves as a client advocate by identifying a client's underlying needs and then interacting with key internal and external contacts to best leverage services available through and other supportive resources.
  • Maintains a strict standard of confidentiality to ensure our client's protected health information (PHI) is secure.
  • Attends regularly scheduled training sessions and professional development courses as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate.
  • 1+ years providing customer service in a healthcare call center environment.
  • 1+ years appointment scheduling experience.
  • Electronic Medical Records knowledge.
  • Familiarity with working in a fast paced, fluid, start-up environment.
  • A professional level of communication.
  • Ability to quickly gain client trust and confidence.
  • Demonstrated ability with PC navigation, data entry, and phone system use.
  • Clear and accurate oral and written communication.
  • An understanding of when and how to de-escalate difficult calls.
  • Preferred experience with insurance verification.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to provide exceptional customer and personal services.
  • Skilled in developing effective rapport with patients, patient families, and colleagues.
  • Able to adapt to change in an ever-changing work environment. Attention to detail, organization skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills a must.
  • Ability to work flexible hours - including some evenings.
