Job Description:


  • Partner with the R&D Specialist and production crew to determine sample needs and expectations

  • Prepare samples, pack and ship them

  • Assist production crew with formula modifications and recalculation

  • Communicate and coordinate sample runs with production, including managers, supervisors, and scheduler

  • Request ingredients from shipping and receiving staff

  • Provide direction to the mixers/operators about sample specifications and recipes

  • Ensure specifications of the samples are being followed

  • Use Mathematics, chemistry, microbiology, engineering, and other sciences to study the principles underlying the processing and deterioration of foods

  • Evaluate products against targets and goals for taste, texture, and other requirements

  • Understand all the equipment and processes used to create each sample product

  • Inspect food processing areas to ensure compliance with government regulations and standards for sanitation, safety, quality, and waste management standards.

  • Organize data and draw conclusions from a variety of microbiological, chemical and physical tests

  • Assists in generating new product ideas and recipes, modifying and improving existing recipes, ensuring that strict hygiene food safety standards are met identifying and choosing products from suppliers.

  • Assist in investigating customer complaints and product issues; Compiling, checking and approving product specifications and labeling;

  • Stay up­ to date on new regulations and current events regarding food science by reviewing scientific literature.

  • Willingness to fill in and assist other positions within the company.



Skills/Requirements:

  • Associates degree or High School diploma and related experience.

  • 2 year of manufacturing of meat industry experience

  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong decision making and problem­solving skills

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concreate variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

  • Excellent planning, organizational, multi­tasking and project management skills
