Project Coordinator

Sturgeon Electric California, LLC., a subsidiary of MYR Group, Inc. is currently looking for a project coordinator. This position will based out of a project office and will be supporting projects within the Sun City, CA project area.

Position Summary:

Project Coordinator duties include, but are not limited, to the support of functions related to construction management in the electrical construction industry. Must be able to interface with, and provide general project support to senior project professionals.

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Experience in preparing Construction schedules in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera and providing updates to staff and client on a regular basis
  • Submit Request for Information (RFI) to Client and follow up to assure positive tracking
  • Assist as main point of contract and facilitate conference calls, coordination meetings, and schedule updates
  • Submit deliverables as requested by Client and address outstanding "open items" also requested by Client
  • Review and gain intimate familiarity with contract and subcontract agreements for project
  • Assist with preparation of 3-week look ahead schedules on a weekly basis
  • Assist with coordination of work tasks with Field Leadership Client, and Sub-Contractor
  • Assist in preparation of weekly/monthly progress reports
  • Review job progress and monitor job cost versus budget and report to Management
  • Reconciliation of timesheets to work orders and work orders to work order logs
  • Billing preparation
  • Investigation of purchase order summary reports
  • Enter POs in the system
  • Assist project professionals in various administrative areas
  • Generation of submittals and final close out packages
  • Union/Apprenticeship needs
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable
  • The essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company designated project office location

Job Requirements


  • Prior experience working in a construction environment preferably within the electrical industry desired
  • Experience working with schedules, change orders, RFI's, and general support to project management helpful
  • Experience with contract review, and ability to read blueprints helpful
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related preferred but not mandatory
  • Ability to review and monitor job progress reports and ability to provide reporting to management
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written and ability to interface professionally with all levels of personnel to include customers required
  • Ability to be detail-oriented and ability to think practically in order to solve office problems and interface effectively with senior project personnel
  • Proficiency in using computers and a variety of software systems to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Projects highly desired
  • Exhibits good planning and organization skills
  • Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable
