We are currently seeking a Project Manager for our Topeka, KS location. Position will be based in Topeka, and will require to travel to projects within the district area.

Project Manager to manage large projects within the construction of large transmission-line projects. The position will be based out of the KS district office and will cover projects within the assigned project areas nationwide. Travel is required.

Project Manager Duties:

• Preparation of project construction schedules
• Submission of request for information to clients
• Acting as main point of contact for projects and facilitating conference calls
• Coordinating meetings, scheduling updates, submitting deliverables, and addressing outstanding 'open items' as requested by clients
• Preparation of look-ahead documents and weekly/monthly progress reports
• Reviewing and monitoring job costs versus budgets
• Reporting to management team
• Other duties as assigned
• Keeping emphasis on the client, develop an understanding of the client's culture, key people and processes
• Provide guidance and direction for estimators during the estimation process
• Interfaces with various staff to include field personnel
• Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable
• Mentor PM & PC personnel in the district if not assigned to a FT project

The essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company designated office or field location

Job Requirements

Project Manager Skills/Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a Project Manager working with electrical transmission, distribution and substation projects
• Ability to prepare construction schedules in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera
• Prior knowledge and/or ability to learn and understand the estimating process regarding labor hours and equipment
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is required, or equivalent in experience
• Proficiency with MS Excel and Word is required
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Strong customer service skills required 
• Salary commensurate with experience
• PMP Certification or equivalent classes preferred.
