Status: Up to 14 Month Term

As Community Support Communications Specialist at The North West Company (NWC), you will support the planning, development, and implementation of corporate communications activities, both external and internal. You will assist with the development and administration of corporate social responsibility initiatives, including administration of NWCs Healthy Horizons Foundation.

Your Role: Support Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives including monitoring and tracking implementation;
Plan and execute corporate communications activities including drafting press releases and bi-weekly newsletter;
Administration of NWCs Healthy Horizons Foundation including fundraising initiatives and event coordination;
Maintaining the community relationship database, community reports and coordinating community relations initiatives;
Work cross-functionally to coordinate CSR strategy; and,
Manage Community Support requests.

Desired Skills Experience:
Marketing diploma or degree and 2-5 years experience in professional services in a marketing and communications leadership role;
1-3 years of supervisory experience is considered an asset;
Superior written and verbal communications skills, coupled with highly developed interpersonal skills;
Strong project management skills with ability to multi-task and set priorities within tight timelines and high client expectations;
Flexible and open to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed timeframes;
Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases or corporate communications, making presentations and interacting with media;
Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications;
Computer literacy in word processing, data base management and page layout;
Must possess a valid passport; and,
Ability to travel.
