In your role as Data Management Systems Manager at The North West Company (NWC), you will be accountable to be the organizational Subject Matter Expert for the Merchandise Management Systems. You will develop new process and procedures, provide training to the business and oversee the item maintenance activities to ensure a high level of master data integrity.

Your Role:

• Leads the Item Maintenance teams to maintain master item data and pricing information within the system (PowerHQ, Retek, RPP, CCPS, AS400, as applicable);
• Leads the training activities for item maintenance, pricing and category team members;
• Advocates for changes to the platforms and processes to improve accuracy and ease of work for all team members.
• Leads a successful implementation of Project Enterprise, namely Power HQ, Vendor Portal and Billback Manager and operationalizing these systems within the item maintenance and pricing team;
• Creates and maintains master training manuals, process maps and other documentation;
• Accountable to ensure that team engagement, understanding and usage of new tools is accomplished;
• Maintains system knowledge through continuous education in software; and
• Engages with users across the enterprise to determine potential enhancements to tool.

Desired Skills Abilities:

• Post-secondary degree in Commerce, Finance and/or Marketing;
• 3-5 years of analytical experience (preference to retail);
• Expert Proficiency in Microsoft Office with specific emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint;
• Ability to quickly learn new concepts, systems and industry best practices and apply these learnings to the support of the business;
• Proven experience in an analytic capacity with a focus on identifying insights and presenting recommendations;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• Ability to effectively coach and develop a high functioning team;
• Ability to prioritize and accomplish work independently and within a team to meet deadlines;
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills; and
• Ability to analyze specific details and or components of a problem without losing perspective of the bigger picture and or project goals.
