In your role as the Receptionist, at The North West Company (NWC), you will be acting as the first point of contact for Gibraltar House guests and provide professional and friendly services.

Your Role:

• Answer incoming switchboard calls, directing callers to the appropriate extension in a professional and efficient manner. Greets visitors to the building and notify appropriate employee of their arrival;
• Administer and monitor company parking program and oversee the Winnipeg Transit employee Peggo card program;
• Update and maintain contact lists and organizational charts with new hires, resignations and employee position changes;
• Prepare orientation material packages for new hires;
• Process invoices for payment;
• Review inquiries that are sent to the Corporate HR email inbox and direct to the appropriate Corporate HR team member for follow up, and;
• Assist the Corporate HR team with administrative tasks.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 2 years general office experience is required;
• Previous reception experience in operating a Meridian switchboard 2250 is an asset;
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and listen effectively in order to provide a high customer service level;
• Must have strong customer service skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of internal and external customers;
• Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and handle situations with tact and discretion;
• Work collaboratively with others to ensure completion of tasks and address issues;
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision;
• Detail conscious while maintaining a high degree of accuracy;
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet all deadlines, and;
• Ability to speak in French an asset.
