Activity Aide (part-time, days, VV)

Full Time, FTE: 0.9; 
Adult Day Center - Vacaville
Vacaville, CA

Job Summary:
The primary purpose of the Activity Aide is to assist the Activity Coordinator in planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Activity Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, NorthBay Healthcare System’s policies and procedures and, as may be directed by the Manager, to ensure that an ongoing program of activities is designed to meet the interests and the physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each client in accordance with the comprehensive assessment.

               

Education: 
1. High school graduate or equivalent.

Licensure and Certification:  
1. Current Certification in first aid training including current AHA or equivalent  CPR card.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills: 
1. 2-3 years experience working with persons with Alzheimer’s or other dementia disease.
2. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Other:
1. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. 
2. Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as be willing to handle clients based on whatever cognitive level at which they are currently functioning. 
3. Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel.
4. Conditions of employment will include fingerprint clearance and criminal record statement. 

Physical Effort: 
Moderate.  Must demonstrate ability to perform principle duties and responsibilities as listed in job description.  Must demonstrate ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds to move adult clients and/or equipment as required.
