Bio Medical Technician I (on-call)

Job Summary:

The Bio-Medical Equipment Technician inspects, tests, maintains, calibrates, installs and removes patient care medical equipment, instrumentation, and systems used in the delivery of healthcare.  Other clinical support activities include compliance monitoring and reporting, evaluations, recommendations, quality and performance improvement activities, and assisting medical and nursing staff in the safe and effective use of patient care medical equipment.  The Bio-Medical Equipment technician is responsible for ensuring compliance with the organization’s medical equipment management program, safety, all applicable policies, procedures and requirements of Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ’s), including OSHA, FDA, CMS, TJC, CDPH, NFPA 99, Title 22, regulations and requirements will be met or exceeded.

1. Associate in Science Degree or higher in Electronics or a Healthcare Equipment Technology field is preferred.

Licensure and Certification:
1. Certified Biomedical Electronics Technician (CBET) Certificate preferred.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
1. Three or more years in the medical equipment maintenance field required. 
2. Experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
3. Strong electronic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, computer skills.
