Clinical Documentation Improvement Coordinator

Full Time, FTE: 1; 
NorthBay Medical Center
Fairfield, CA

Job Summary:

The Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Coordinator facilitates modifications to clinical documentation through concurrent interaction with physicians and other members of the health care team to support that appropriate clinical severity is captured for the level of service rendered to all inpatients

                            

Education

  1. graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing
  2. BSN or higher nursing degree required.

Licensure/Certification: 

  1. Current, unrestricted license as a California Registered Nurse

Knowledge/Special Skills: 

  1. Clinical expert with at least 5 years recent inpatient clinical experience
  2. Advanced clinical expertise and extensive knowledge of complex disease processes with broad clinical experience in an inpatient setting.
  3. Professional, team player, able to communication well with others.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills, pleasing personality, positive
  5. Good critical thinking skills, able to assess, evaluate, and teach
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  7. Proficiency in organization and planning
  8. Proficiency in computer usage including database and spreadsheet analysis, presentation programs, word processing and Internet searching
  9. Understanding of organizational policies and procedures
  10. Working knowledge of quality improvement theory and practice
  11. Ability and willingness to seek out and accept change
  12. Demonstrates adaptability and self-motivation by staying abreast of CMS rules and regulations and incorporating those changes into daily practice
  13. Knowledge of federal, state and private payer regulations
