Clinical Nurse II-Central Staffing Float Pool

Part Time, FTE: 0.9; Includes holiday and weekend rotation. Must be able to work at either hospital location.

Job Summary:

  1. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will have the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to deliver safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the Department of Nursing.
  2. Utilizing the Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, the Relationship Based Care, and the NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for all patients assigned to your care.
  3. As an RN, you will make determinations regarding the progress of the patient toward goals and utilizes a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health.
  4. The care you provide will be according to the specific physiologic, developmental and psycho-social needs of the patient.
  5. Modifies and delivers care that is specific to the special behaviors/needs of the patient adolescent, adult and geriatric patient. 
  6. It is expected that you will support the mission, vision, values and expectation of excellence of the organization. 
  7. As a float team member you will be assigned to nursing areas in any Acute Care Unit in order to meet the needs of our patients.  


  1. Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing, BSN highly preferred.
  2. BSN is required by January 1, 2020 (excludes those employees grandfathered as outlined in March 2014 letter).

Licensure and Certifications:

  1. Valid, current and unencumbered RN license by the State of California.
  2. Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS and ACLS is required.
  3. Telemetry certification within 3 months of employment
  4. Preferred National Certification in area of specialty such as TCRN, CMSRN.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge: 

  1. Six months to one year acute care experience required. (One year of skilled nursing care, Long Term Acute Care, or Acute Rehabilitation is equivalent to six months of acute care experience.)
  2. Competency for the unit assigned based on unit specific requirements as defined collaboratively with Nursing Leadership and the Nursing Education Department.
  3. Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills in the English language.
