Clinical Nurse II Intensive Care Unit
Full Time, FTE: 0.9; Shift hours: 0700-1930 Weekend and Holiday rotation required

Job Summary:

  1. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will have the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to deliver safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the Department of Nursing.
  2. Utilizing the Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, the Relationship Based Care, and the NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for all patients assigned to your care.
  3. As an RN, you will make determinations regarding the progress of the patient toward goals and utilizes a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health.
  4. The care you provide will be according to the specific physiologic, developmental and psycho-social needs of the patient.
  5. Modifies and delivers care that is specific to the special behaviors/needs of the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient within the scope of service of the Intensive Care Unit.
  6. It is expected that you will support the mission, vision, values and expectation of excellence of the organization. 

Education:

  1. Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing,   
  2. BSN is required (excludes those employees grandfathered as outlined in March 2014 letter).

Licensure and Certifications:

  1. Valid, current and unencumbered RN license by the State of California. 
  2. Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS and ACLS required. 
  3. Must have Telemetry certification within 6 months of employment.
  4.  Procedural Sedation certification and TNCC certification required within first year of employment.
  5. TCAR competed within 18 months of employment.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  1. One year step down level RN experience within the last three years, ICU experience highly preferred.
  2. Demonstrates competence including but not limited to: arrhythmia interpretation, advanced patient assessment, advanced airway management and ventilator care. 
  3. Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.  
  4. Completion of the following classes within six months of employment: ST Segment/Lead selection class, CV Surgery Review , “A Stroke of Genius” class, Care of the Neurosurgical patient, and 12 Lead EKG class.

Other:

  2. All RNs in the Patient Care Services Department are required to wear Graphite (Dark Gray) colored scrubs per the dress code policy.
