Director, Emergency Department Business Services

Job Summary:

The Director is accountable for assuring the provision of effective, business operations encompassing multiple responsibilities which include: operational and strategic collaboration and execution of medical operations of the Emergency Departments at NBMC and Vacavalley Hospital, management of business operations including financial performance, compliance with revenue cycle management, and fostering of interdisciplinary, collaborative relationships within the units of accountability and the organization. The Director has primary responsibility for Emergency Services business operations, and is open to occasional evenings and weekends. The Director of ED Business Operations works collaboratively with the Emergency Medical Director, Trauma Medical Director, and Director and Manager of Trauma Services in ensuring high quality, cost effective care is provided to all patients. This is a highly visible position that has administrative authority to work with entities across NorthBay Healthcare in order to meet established accountabilities.


  1. Master’s Degree in Business, related field or equivalent experience required.


  1. Three to five years of related experience in area of responsibility. 
  2. Three to five years of progressive management experience with increasing scope of responsibility preferred.
  3.  Emergency Services experience preferred.
  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. 
  5. Demonstrates results oriented management. 
  6. Must be well organized, able to set priorities, work independently and function as an effective team member. 
  7. Proficient in computer systems and software applications required.  
  8.
