HR Support Specialist II (On-call)
On Call, FTE: 1
Administration Center
Fairfield, CA (GreenValley)

Job Summary:

Provides a full range of administrative and technical support to one or more assigned areas of the Human Resource Department. The Human Resources Specialist II may be assigned to work supporting one of the Human Resources Services teams serving a Vice President’s Group or other major organizational entity. This is a fully-experienced, journey level position and incumbents are expected to be able to work independently and without close supervision in carrying out a variety of assigned duties, tasks and projects across human resource specialty areas including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and learning and leadership.



Education:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent required. 
  2. Bachelor's Degree desirable.  College level coursework in Human Resources highly desirable.

Experience/Knowledge:

  1. Four years experience working in a Human Resources department in a support position required. 
  2. Must have experience in supporting multiple areas of human resources.  Previous hospital human resources experience highly desirable.
  3. Must demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and phone communication skills.
  4. Intermediate proficiency in word processing, 50 words per minute keying speed required.  Database, report writing and spreadsheet experience required. 
  5. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion.
  6. High attention to detail and accuracy. 
  7. Must be highly organized and be able to effectively multi-task while managing multiple projects in a busy office environment essential.
  8. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with others is essential.
  9. Ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly to customers reflecting the diversity of the community.
  10. Capacity to maintain clear thinking, composure, and respect for others under pressure or unpredictable working conditions very important.
  11. Must be familiar with and have a working understanding of standard federal, state laws and regulations pertaining to employment and EEO. Must have a broad understanding of the principles of human resource management, common human resources, policies, procedures, in-depth knowledge of one or more human resource functional areas.
  12. May be required to drive an automobile to and from various NorthBay worksites and off campus events.
  13. Requires a high level of comfort with taking initiative and being accountable for team work and service excellence.
