Mental Health Technician (part-time, days, VV)

Part Time, FTE: 0.8;

Vacaville, CA

The NorthBay Health and Wellness Psychology Practice is seeking a certified mental health technician, under the direction of a psychologist and in collaboration with the care team, to provide a full range of clerical services and clinical services in support of its mission to integrate mental health care services within the NorthBay Healthcare primary care clinic.



Education: 
1. High school diploma or equivalent.  
2. Associate or bachelor degree in psychology, counseling, human services, or a health related area. 
3. Directly related, completed degrees from accredited institutions may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Licensure and Certification:
1. Certification from accredited agency (to be completed within 6 months) or relevant degree;
2. AHA CPR or equivalent.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
1. Two years experience as a mental health technician.
2. Works well as part of team and is self-motivated, ability to interact with staff and health professionals in a team environment.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Comfortable assessing risk and managing distressed person, knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
5. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and privacy.
6. Knowledge of psychology, familiarity with medical terminology.
7. Culturally accountable and competent.
8. Capable of managing multiple priorities and demands
9. Ability to provide therapeutic patient care to mentally, emotionally and/or developmentally disabled individuals.
10. Skill in preparing and maintaining patient records.
11. Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
12. Skill in office management.
13. Enhances program reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
