Quality Data Coordinator (Full-time)

Job Summary:

This position reports to the Director of the Quality Division. The Health Data Coordinator is a healthcare information professional responsible for verifying the validity of data gathered from multiple sources. They ensure that processes and protocols are followed, thereby improving the quality and efficiency of care. By using various technologies, the coordinator will support organizational excellence through analytics, report writing, database queries, and observational studies. Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining various reports that translate into meaningful information for clinical operations, quality improvement, and other leadership teams that require knowledge from data for decision making in alignment with the organizations strategic goals, objectives and initiatives. Other responsibilities include identifying necessary resources, developing plans for data related projects, and determining timelines and milestones. They will also perform data validation, data reconciliation and the retrieval of missing data when required. The coordinator is expected to be at the center of data management for the organization, right from planning and execution to completion of a project. Responsible for maintaining, tracking and trending of Quality reports and preparing summary reports for various departments and committees.


1. Bachelor’s Degree required in Information Management, Informatics, or healthcare.
2. Master’s Degree preferred, certification in a related field preferred.
3. Medical terminology course preferred.


1. Certification in a related field preferred, for example AHIMA, CPHQ, etc.
2. Minimal coverage auto insurance.
3. Current California driver’s license


1. Three to five years experience in healthcare analytics required.
2. Experience in applications such as; Discern Analytics, Business Objects Infoview, Midas, Data Vision, Cerner, Data Warehouse, Vizient CDB, Vigilanz, Tableau, Microsoft Office, Electronic Health Records (Cerner, EPIC, etc.) and report writing.
3. Proficiency with spreadsheets, relational databases, data warehouses, and application solutions programming is required.
4. Must demonstrate knowledge of quality improvement databases. 
5. Strong database application skills are required.  
6. Must possess strong analytic problem solving skills, with attention to detail, and have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills is required.

9. Ability to integrate information from multiple sources. 
10.  Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, and Power Point skills required.
11.  Knowledge of hospital and outpatient operations, informatics, clinical decision support, business concepts and advanced analysis skills are required.
12. Ability to compile, code, and categorize data. Maintain medical, financial and legal information confidential.
13. Ability to juggle multiple priorities and exploring innovative solutions to problems.
