Respiratory Care Practitioner II

Full Time, FTE: 0.9; Weekends and Holidays per the Employee handbook

The Respiratory Care Practitioner has the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to deliver safe, effective, quality respiratory care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives, policies, procedures, guidelines and objectives of Respiratory Care Services.  The RCP, utilizing the Relationship Based Care Model and the four C’s of the NorthBay Way assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for all patients assigned to his/her care. The RCP makes determinations regarding the progress of the patient toward goals and utilizes a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health.  Care is provided according to the specific physiologic, developmental and psychosocial needs of the patient.  Supports the mission, vision, values and expectations of excellence of the organization. 



Education: Graduate of an approved CoARC RCP Program if hired after 1982.

Licensure:  Current Respiratory Care Practitioner License by the state of California.  CRT required.  RRT required.  BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certification required at the time of hire.

Experience:  6 months post graduate acute care.  Pediatric/neonatal experience preferred.

Physical Effort: Performs all physical duties of the job. Requires lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching and fine motor skills.

Hours of Work: Shift work, variable 12 hour shifts with 30 minute meal break; requires rotating weekends and holidays.

Other: Completion of annual organizational requirements for employment (TB testing, Safety training, mandatory in-services, etc.).

Beginning June 1, 2019, all Respiratory Therapy or Cardiology positions in the Patient Care Services Department will be required to wear Navy Blue colored scrubs per the dress code policy.
