Basic Job Functions:

The Lead Person will assist the RM Supervisor and the crew in all areas of the day to day operations. They will support the NYS Mission Statement and take a leadership role at all times in the areas concerning Safety, Quality, and Productivity. The Lead Person should be able to fill in on all positions within the crew, including the Supervisor as needed. An NYS Lead Person must be willing to accept the responsibilities of a lead position and expected to maintain a high level of performance and leadership at all times. The Roll Mill Lead person must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed and must be able to meet all physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.


Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.



Minimum Requirements:

One year of leadership experience


Working knowledge of the Finishing, Roll Mill, and Roll Shop processes

Problem Solving & Judgment/Decision Making- Identifying problems and analyzing or reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options in order to choose the most appropriate solution.


Teamwork: Working as part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve a common goal.
