Basic Job Functions:


Responsabilities for the operator 5 role include but are not limited to: 

  • Safety is the most important aspect of all jobs within Nucor. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

  • Safely operate and set up multiple pieces of equipment throughout the roll‑forming lines and effectively fill in at various positions as needed.

  • Read and interpret shop drawings.

  • Understand and execute departmental policies related to production, inventory, quality, and training.

  • Accurately measure materials and equipment using tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and squares.

  • Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment as required.

  • Perform tasks as directed by the line supervisor and/or group leader.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivelant.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with, or cross‑training in, NBG roll‑forming operations and equipment.

  • Certified crane and forklift operator.
