Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Lexington is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Plant Mechanical Engineer. Duties include:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field of study and two (2) years of experience in a steel mill or heavy manufacturing industry.
Must have experience:
Optimizing and maintaining steel mill operations, steel manufacturing processes, machinery, and equipment.
Utilizing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Engineering software, data analysis tools (Excel), and computer-aided design (CAD) software (AutoCAD and Inventor) for modern engineering and design tasks.
Overseeing all aspects of Project Planning, procurement, construction management, and risk mitigation.
Utilizing Microsoft Project to define project scope of work and building schedule.
Preparing 2D/3D drawings in AutoCAD/Inventor.
10% International and Domestic Travel for training, meetings, and visiting equipment manufacturing and fabrication facilities.
