Basic Job Functions:

Responsibilities for a plate machine operator include but are not limited to:

1. Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment as needed.


2. Read and interpret drawings.


3. Perform tasks as directed by the Line Supervisor and/or the Line Group Leader.


4. Efficiently track and maintain material inventory.


5. Understand order processing (shop releases and run orders).

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• GMAW experience.
