Basic Job Functions:
The Process Improvement Engineer is primarily responsible for Continuous Improvement of our Manufacturing Processes. Safety is a focus of all teammates and responsibilities will include upholding safety standards, practicing good housekeeping, and leading/participating on teams for improvement and problem solving. They will help lead projects that establish and improve process efficiency, reduce waste, improve cost, minimize variation and improve control. The Process Engineer will assist operations and maintenance in equipment modifications, planning of upgrades and outages, vendor development, and training of teammates. They need to be skilled in the use of production and control technologies, problem solving methods in process control, data, and statistical. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
