Basic Job Functions:

The Roll Shop Roll Turner plays a critical role in assisting the team to produce a quality product safely and efficiently. Critical to this role are strong relationships and interaction with the Roll Mill and Maintenance Teams, along with the other departments. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the management of rolls and roll redressing/turning, managing tooling inventory, programming equipment for efficient operation and assisting with stand and guide building/maintenance as needed. The Roll Turner is expected to work with the team to provide excellent quality and service to the Roll Mill and will be expected to expand beyond their role to develop strong working knowledge and abilities in the Roll Mill. 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.



Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated, responsible, and safety-oriented.

  • Familiar with Rolling Mill stand and guiding equipment.

  • Understanding of the rolling process.

  • Proficient in problem solving and analytical thinking skills.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results and meeting expectations.

  • Understanding of the importance of close tolerances for machined components.
