The aim of the fraud is to obtain personal information or money.  Recent incidents have occurred involving both individuals and organizations falsely claiming to recruit on behalf of Parker Drilling.   These emails and offer letters often appear legitimate and may include job description, salary, and benefit details. Prospective candidates may be instructed by fraudsters to pay them fees for immigration and visa application/processing services.  We recommend that you do not respond to unsolicited offers of employment.

 

Position Summary

The Training Specialist develops, coordinates and delivers technical training to staff, and ensures compliance with all regulatory agency training requirements. As the primary trainer for the organization, the Training Specialist will be certified in certain agency–related required trainings, manage and track training for all staff, maintain accurate training files and training database, drive efficient use of online and virtual training systems, and work with vendors as necessary.


• Identify and schedule presenters; deliver various training modules and work to continually enhance the orientation program and learning experience.
• Track training requirements for each employee. This includes maintaining accurate online file as well as hard copy file. Maintain an “audit ready” system.
• Manage communication to departments and staff about annual training requirements. Track compliance with requirements.
• Create new training programs based on needs of the organization.
• Coordinate training delivered by other departments
• Adheres to all Company policies and procedures.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Education Required

• High School Diploma

Minimum Work Experience

• 5 Years

Position Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must have a High School Diploma.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Must have the following certifications: EMT, First Aid Instructor and IADC Wellsharp.
• Should have at least 5 years of work experience as a Technical Training Specialist; preferably in oil and gas.
• Must understand, interpret and implement applicable regulations within regulatory jurisdiction.
• Must be able to understand and work mathematical equations.
• Capacity to work effectively under pressure in ambiguous and complex situations.
• Ability to work independently with multiple people at many levels and work as part of a team.
• Professional relationship and interpersonal skills with strong customer service attitude.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize and manage multiple requests from various avenues, and the ability to change direction in response to fluctuating circumstances.
• Must be able to problem solve.
• Must be a self-motivator and work without close supervision.
• Must be able to prioritize jobs and work under tight time constraints.
• Must have excellent computer skills (preferably Microsoft Word®, Excel®, Access®, PowerPoint® and Publisher® software).
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills and able to effectively communicate with staff, management, customers and vendors. Being multi-lingual is preferred.

Physical Demands

The physical demands must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk, stoop, kneel, carry, push/pull and use repetitive wrist and hand movements. The employee may be required to lift and/or move objects of up to 25 pounds. Hearing, seeing ability of rapid mental coordination. It is required to be mentally alert for entire regular shift.

Work Environment

This position may work in various locations internationally. Some locations may be subject to extreme temperatures, hostile environments, civil unrest, etc. Also, travel to and from work location may require extended layovers in unfamiliar locations. Potential for exposure to temperature changes, wetness, confined spaces, chemicals, grease and oil, working with ladder/scaffolds, working with hands in water, and working alone. Parker Drilling will supply adequate training and equipment to meet the functions of the job.
