Position Summary
 

Provide leadership and coordination of region’s financial planning, reporting and budget management functions. Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles and are SOX compliant. Be the principle point of liaison for ITS colleagues on finance matters on a regional basis.


 
Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Setup, build and manage the accounting and reporting department.
  • Setup the Company records on 1C.
  • Ensure the preparation of timely and accurate monthly group management accounts and reports for operational management
  • Responsibility for the accuracy and delivery of the group financial year end close globally as well as the budget and forecasts processes
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Group’s accounting records and financial systems
  • Ensure ongoing accounting and reporting compliance with local regulations
  • Ensure timely submission of VAT and Income Tax.
  • Preparation of budgets, forecasts and business plans and continued monitoring & review of performance against them to enable robust reporting of variances to the Board and third party stakeholders
  • Keep under regular review the effectiveness of internal controls covering financial, operational & compliance.
  • Play an active role in assisting management in the risk assessment process and embedding a risk management culture throughout the organization
  • Support the Leader Team in taking business decisions and improve the Company’s overall performance.
  • Ensure adequate resourcing & appropriate structuring of the team, allowing for an agile approach to service delivery whilst upholding quality and accuracy
  • Carry out any further tasks for which the qualifications & experience are suited as directed by the Company

Job Requirements

Education / Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Professional Accounting Qualification (ICAS/ACCA/CIMA) – preferred but not essential

Experience:

  • 10+ years experience in accounting/finance/auditing.
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Management experience
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry would be advantageous but not essential

Technical Skills:

  • Close attention to detail
  • Must work to deadlines
  • Strong verbal, written and numerical skills
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
  • People management skills
  • Effective communication skills

Administrative Skills:

  • Microsoft Packages i.e Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Oracle would be advantageous but not essential
