Medicaid Program Manager - DPDM (Item 1375) in Albany, NY


Day-to-Day Tasks of Position:
The Medicaid Program Manager  will lead a team of staff in the Division of Program Development and Management (DPDM) to develop and implement Medicaid policies for the New York State Medicaid program.  Duties include:

  • Collaborating with the Division Director of the DPDM, the Medical Director of the Office of Health Insurance Programs, and other staff to develop and implement Medicaid strategies
  •  Understanding key drivers of the Medicaid program and identifying new opportunities
  • Participating in a positive team environment while managing deadlines and expectations
  • Performing detailed research and analysis, then putting the results into action
  • Gathering, reviewing, and summarizing literature and data from the public domain
  • Reviewing, analyzing and drafting regulations and legislation

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • 10 years of professional experience
  • 5 years of subject matter experience
  • Supervisory experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical or public health expertise
  • Demonstrated knowledge of government healthcare programs and the federal and state public policy process
  • An interest in or knowledge of the New York Medicaid program
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Management and supervision experience
  • The ideal candidate will be creative, curious and outcomes-focused
