Job Description

The Project Portfolio Management (PPM) Practice Lead will be responsible for establishing a PPM practice at PRI to ensure business value is prioritized and realized from IT projects. The PPM Practice Lead will be responsible for defining standards and best practices for project selection, prioritization, monitoring and measurement. Finally, the incumbent will also be responsible for leadership of project managers and serving as a liaison between the business and the project teams.
Essential Functions
Portfolio Practice Management
Evolve current software development life cycle and project management disciplines into a formal project portfolio management practice
Evangelize the concept and utility of PPM to the larger organization
Serve as visionary for PPM practice
Definition of PPM mission, best practices and standards
Development and management of project portfolio
Definition of methodology for identifying and measuring business value for IT projects
Implementation of processes to select projects based on business value
Implementation of processes to measure and report financial metrics for projects
Operationalizing processes monitor status and measure project value
Management of relationships with key business stakeholders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, management/computer information systems, accounting or related field
Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, management/computer information systems, accounting or related field preferred
10+ years of progressive technology and/or portfolio management experience
PMP, Agile or Scrum certification a plus
Experience in establishing, maintaining, and/or serving in a consultative capacity for PPM practice
Experience managing financial statements, preferably owning financial reporting responsibilities of a PPM practice
First-hand experience with large-scale software development and/or project management programs such as digital transformations and or system modernizations
Experience implementing, managing, and, preferably migrating to, PPM software
Financial services industry experience a plus
Proven track record driving tangible results in high pressure situations
Strong consultative, analytical, consensus-building and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication to both executive leadership team, peers, and staff
