Job Description

Job Summary

Main Objectives and Duties:

1. Designs and configures voice, video, and data communications systems.

  • Responsible for the configuration, installation, and maintenance of the voice capabilities and in helping to define network, voice architecture and best practices for the customer. This includes the organization’s voice, fax, and A/V systems (e.g., teleconferencing).
  • Ensures configuration and installation of network hardware and software, as well as network repairs and upgrades
  • Collects telecommunication data for evaluation, with an eye to continual improvement
  • Helps identify and implement improvements where needed
  • Help to quickly identify and resolve telecommunication issues

2. Supervises and ensures maintenance of telecommunications equipment.

  • Elaborates periodic preventive plan and corrective maintenance to equipment, telephony, diagnose, document, communicate to the user, elaborate action plan, execute them and verify the resolution.
  • Keep abreast of changes in industry practices and emerging telecommunications technology by reviewing current literature, talking with colleagues, participating in educational programs, attending meetings or workshops, or participating in professional organizations or conferences.
  • Implement or perform preventive maintenance, backup, or recovery procedures.
  • Consult with users, administrators, and engineers to identify business and technical requirements for proposed system modifications or technology purchases.
  • Assess existing facilities' needs for new or modified telecommunications systems.
  • Order or maintain inventory of telecommunications equipment for customer premises equipment (CPE), facilities, access networks, or backbone networks.
  • Communicates with telecommunications vendors to obtain pricing and technical specifications for available hardware, software, or services.

3. Telecommunications Project management

  • Develop and implement scalable solutions for end-to-end voice services supportive of the customer’s vision and requirements.

Area of expertise (Skills)

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or a related discipline is

required. 3+ years of experience as a network technician (troubleshooter) is also required. Computer network certification

  • Access software — 2AB iLock Security Services; Access management software; Avaya Identity Engines
  • Electronic mail software  Microsoft Exchange Server  ; Microsoft Outlook 
  • Must have experience supporting large

enterprise networks, telephony systems

  • Demonstrated competency in driving network architecture and strategy.
  • Experience interconnecting customer networks with cloud service providers and a strong background in WAN routing and architecture.
  • Knowledgeable in Operating system software — KornShell  ; Linux  ; Microsoft Windows; UNIX 
  • Transaction security and virus protection software — Antivirus software; McAfee  ; Symantec 
  • Customer and Personal Service 
  • Computers and Electronics 
  • English Language 
  • Administration and Management 
  • PMO methodology
