Weekend Facility Entrance Screener

Job Description

Is responsible for screening all patients and visitors entering the building(s) to minimize the spread of High Threat Infectious Diseases, while at the same time, maintaining the mission of Catholic Medical Center as a caring, professional health care facility.
Day Shift- 1430-2300 Saturday/Sunday
Duration: 06/29/2020-12/26/2020
Under the general direction and the direct supervision of the Director of Accreditation and External Relations, within established Medical Center and departmental policies and procedures, the Screener performs the following functions:

1. Engage all patients and visitors as they enter the building(s) to ask the specified screening questions aligned with the CDC Guidelines and Infection Prevention guidance.
2. Perform temperature checks using appropriate thermometer(s) e.g. temporal/no touch/tympanic, etc.
3. Provide patients and visitors with the appropriate screening sticker indicating they are cleared for entry that day.
4. Provide patients and visitors a fabric face mask, if they do not already have a mask when they arrive, to be worn at all times while in the facility. .
5. Guide patients and visitors through all steps of the screening process to provide any needed education regarding rationale for screening guidelines.
6. Maintain 6 feet social distancing from others.
7. Adhere to strict Hand Hygiene protocols.
8. Maintain daily awareness of all screening guidelines.
9. Elevate questions and concerns to Direct Supervisor.
10. Understand safety and security procedures in the event that a Security need arises.
11. Interact in friendly and caring manner with all patients, visitors and employees at all times.
12. Other duties as assigned and appropriate.

Schedule determined at interview. Holidays to be worked in rotation. Contract employees must work at least one major holiday shift and one regular holiday shift.
Must be available to work all shifts during periods of vacation or absence or emergencies.

High School Diploma or equivalent with training in LNA or MA program preferred

Experience in business or health care setting involving customer-service type responsibilities; familiarity with health care setting and broad knowledge base of functions of various health care departments preferred.
