RCS has an immediate need for an Account Manager position local to the Portland, OR Metro area. This is a full-time, contract to hire position.

Our Client is an is a leading energy efficiency company. They help businesses and individuals reduce energy use and lower their utility bills through energy programs that they design, market and implement. They achieve all this through financial incentives, education and energy management strategies and solutions

Summary

Our Client is seeking an Account Manager to support our energy-efficiency and demand response programs in the Pacific Northwest. The ideal candidate is a proven sales or business development manager who enjoys a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Strong business and technical problem-solving and understanding and wide application of sales and technical principles, theories and concept solutions skills are a must.
In this role, candidates will be responsible for building and applying broad understanding of requirements and policies for specific programs to achieve account management, sales and program goals. The candidate will be responsible for developing and communicating in-depth knowledge of market-sector related technologies in demand response and energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing new and maintaining current accounts for one or more energy programs.
  • Responsible for large, complex accounts with potential for significant business impact. 
  • Act as local, on-site program representative to customers, contractors, business owners or property managers; to encourage participation in the program and overcome barriers.
  • Manage scheduling and coordination of program-specific account activities, which may include installation logistics and customer service communications.
  • Represent company or client at key industry events.
  • Manage and prioritize accounts and outreach activity to achieve goals across multiple programs.
  • Document account interactions to adhere to program requirements for data collection and reporting.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and issues, provide technical advice, guidance and training on installation, adaptation, configuration or enhancement in accordance with client specifications
  • May require 25-50% travel throughout a defined territory.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales, business development or account management with proven ability to grow sales.
  • Experience in the utility or manufacturing industries preferred.
  • Experience working with energy-efficient technologies or demand response technologies preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of one or more market sectors.
  • Network of industry contacts and connections across one or more market sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or finance preferred; relevant industry certifications and work experience could replace education
