Our Client provides comprehensive engineering, consulting and automation services to pipelines, utilities and industrial customers.  With first-hand experience operating and maintaining energy infrastructure, over 1,000 professionals provide expertise in Pipeline Engineering, Process Safety Management and Industrial Solutions.

What You Are Accountable For
This position is responsible for developing engineered pipeline construction plans in a CAD/Microstation platform; receiving roughly designed concepts from engineers and transforming them into working documents.  Applications are predominantly related to the civil and mechanical engineering fields.  This position is responsible for understanding and completing drawings in accordance with client specification.

Responsibilities

  • Calculating lay out rights-of-way and/or street dimensions and angles.
  • Constructing dimensional relationships of one part to another and a relationship of various parts to entire project, utilizing knowledge of engineering practices and mathematics.
  • Creating a preliminary and/or final sketch of proposed drawing, using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment.
  • Extracting data imported from a ground survey and creating contour drawings to be used for soil erosion and sediment control drawings.
  • Modifying drawings as directed by engineer or design coordinator.
  • Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the US without restriction.
  • An Associate of Applied Science degree (AAS) in Design and Drafting Technology.
  • Experience with Microstation (either via work experience or coursework).
  • 0-4 years' experience, preferably in civil design and/or the gas pipeline industry.
  • Strong work ethic with desire to work in a production environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • This position requires field work and use of personal vehicle; as a result, the employee must have reliable personal transportation and a valid driver's license and insurance.
