Job Description

We are seeking a Branch Manager to join our Gexpro team at our Las Vegas, NV location:

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate promotions and sales strategies, as defined by the District Manager and Industrial or Construction Sales Managers.
  • Support customer sales and gross profit goals by providing the best in class customer experience. Respond to inquiries, upsell to existing customers, and deliver material as promised. Sell products at the approved margin rates, ensure the best product price, and sell additional products when possible. Fulfill customer orders correctly and on-time.
  • Ensures a positive customer experience that meets or exceeds expectations and is consistent with the company's quality standards. Will work cross-functionally to ensure exceptional customer experience. This will entail full knowledge of all branch sales, operations, logistics, credit, etc., processes. Will work with cross-functional teams to remedy issues and establish systematic resolutions.
  • Hire, train and develop employees to achieve highest level of effectiveness and customer satisfaction. Ensure personnel have the base level of product or technical expertise to successfully execute the sales strategy by implementing local training programs with internal sources, vendors and suppliers or outside schools or training programs.
  • Manages, directly or indirectly, all employees involved in order fulfillment in the assigned location. Identifies training and development needs and implements approved action plans to ensure compliance with Division Operations directives.
  • Manage the sales order process to ensure efficiency and effectiveness and compliance with company OpX procedures. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage inventory to meet/exceed OTIF standards and other inventory performance metrics.
  • Play a key role ensuring customers accommodations are handled meeting the company's policies with respect to the DRS/Get Paid.
  • Controls branch expenses to ensure positive results.
  • Builds community relationships to support sales strategy.
  • Ensure compliance in facilities maintenance, safety and ensures maintenance of branch fleet.
  • Evaluates, recommends, and implements improvement of warehouse layout and logistical processes.
  • Work with Regional Project Management to develop and execute customer specific strategy including quoting, preconstruction, services, storage / Bill & Hold, pricing, etc.

Additional Functions:

Negotiate new/renew Rebates & SPAs (Special Pricing Agreement)

Forecast sales volume

Review profitability of prospective deals

Release credit holds

Manage Sales Team

Account analysis – ensure continued profitability

Review and manage P&L

Recruit new employees and establish expectations

Onboard new employees

Address employee concerns and needs

Manage/coordinate employee workload, vacation, etc.

Conduct employee performance reviews

Create/manage employee training and development plans

Effectively and proactively communicate company strategies

Review/approve expense reports

Manage branch procurement

Maintain/update customer market basket

Maintain/update customer part numbers

Maintain/update customer contact data

Set up and manage customer “kits” in Eclipse

Ensure phones are being answered immediately

Request/compare general material quotes

Enter quotes/bids in Eclipse

Enter Orders in Eclipse

Work customer calling queue

Work customer trouble queue

Make sales calls

Pick-up/review customer drawings, counts, specs

Requirements:

  • Ability to manage P&L operation.
  • Experience developing and implementing sales strategies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of wholesale electrical distribution industry.
  • Demonstrated sales and operations experience in electrical distribution.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills & ability to share information.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred
  • 2-4 years leadership experience.

Language Skills:
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff to make an accurate assessment of customer and branch needs.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to verify and calculate figures such as cost, credit, debit and profit, shortage, loss and understand and interpret financial and or inventory data and reports and balance sheets.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, inventory software, internet software and order processing systems.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Ability to use sound judgment and problem solving skills to analyze customer, branch and employee problems and to recommend the proper course of action. Ability to organize and prioritize job projects and requirements.
