Job Description

We're seeking a Drive and Power Specialist to join our Rexel Automation team at our Tampa, FL location! 

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • The Power specialist is the lead commercial resource for the Power business within the territory. This position will be responsible for ensuring that the following activities occur for the Power business within the territory by ensuring a consistent level of support for customers within the territory.
  • Be a single point of contact for each business unit.
  • Document and execute a competency plan for the APR while acting as the point person for the Power business strategy at the APR level(s) they support.
  • Lead commercial activities at driving conversions at key accounts while identifying and pursuing competitive target accounts for each planning segment
  • Maintain a funnel that is adequate for planning segments within the Power planning segments to make plan.
  • Focus on revenue performance for the Power business for 1 and 3 year.
  • Create, own and execute a business plan for each planning segment.


  • Effectively and accurately handles most technical questions and objections for assigned products while understanding the complementary product lines with the Power solutions.
  • Actively identifies opportunities for variable torque, constant torque and constant HP applications.
  • Clearly understands general application of dynamic breaking, choppers and regeneration.
  • Able to understand and recommend solutions to mitigate harmonics in motor control applications while differentiating products/solutions from competition and promote the differences as meaningful benefits to the customer.
  • Effectively positions energy savings to just return on investment on capital projects.
  • Develop competency programs for Distributor sales, specialists, and self.
  • Analyze and document market conditions, competitive offerings and identify opportunities for growth in the APR(s) they support.
  • Articulate Rockwell Automation’s value proposition in the Power space both commercially and technically while administering and implementing marketing, promotion programs, and product launches for Rockwell Automation’s Power businesses.
  • Lead Power commercial programs, customer events and activities.
  • Exceed growth targets in business revenue and management objectives by ensuring sufficient funnel in the Power business space to achieve plans. 
  • Coordinate sales teaming efforts required to identify and close account conversions and project sales opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or Technology diploma in related technical field, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge & understanding of Power Control, Motor Control, Harmonics and Regeneration, Panel Design, PLC’s, SCADA design/programming and Intelligent Motor Control. Rockwell Automation’s Intelligent Motor Control is a plus.
  • Able to read an electrical one-line diagram, having.
