We are seeking for a Industrial Field Service Technician to join our Rexel Automation Solutions team in Cheektowaga NY!


The Industrial Field Service Technician is responsible for providing on-site services that support manufacturing operations. Specific services include: evaluating and documenting customer installed hardware/software/network equipment, evaluating customer store room inventory and its ability to properly support the installed base of equipment, and to evaluate customer safety compliance.  Additional electrical services may be performed depending on candidates experience and capabilities including: basic legacy automation equipment replacement, power equipment configuration and start up, and basic electrical wiring. 



•    Analyze and assess documented procedures on-site at customer facilities.
•    Perform onsite collection of current installed base of automation equipment, through facility walk through and use of data collection tools in industrial manufacturing environment.
•    Perform onsite collection of arch flash and lockout tag out policy/procedure/compliance information to assess current practices and make recommendations for updates and improvements.
•    Perform onsite assessment of customer store room assets.
•    Demonstrate core competency around Rockwell Automation products and associated manufacturing technology.
•    Make decisions and judgment calls based on industry experience and best practices.
•    Ability to work without direct supervision or approval.
•    Exhibit self-motivation and ability to work independently.


•    Act as a professional representative of Rexel Automation while performing services at customer locations.
•    Develop relationships with key customer stakeholders by demonstrating competency and trustworthiness.
•    Assist in the presentation of findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
•    Articulate the value of modernization and compliance services to customers during the lifecycle of the engagement.
•    Work with customers to determine customer problems, needs and goals, thereby identifying opportunities for product and services that may be outside of the scope of the original engagement.
•    Document work activities in appropriate, professional report format.
•    Assist in the creation and development of clarifications and resolutions of customer issues.
•    Make decisions and judgment calls based on industry experience and best practices.
•    Ability to work without direct supervision or approval.
•    Exhibit self-motivation and ability to work independently.



•    2-3 years Industrial electrician or automation engineering experience required.
•    Understanding of safe work practices in an industrial environment including, but not limited to, following safe work practices which may include utilization of personal protective equipment as required.
•    Demonstrate interpersonal communications, organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
•   Associate of Science Technology degree, or equivalent technological training; e.g. technological training received while serving in the military, or equivalent industry experience
•    Hands-on experience with commercially available technology such as Microsoft Office.
•    Exposure and knowledge of Industrial Control Systems including PLC, HMI/SCADA, plant historian, motor control, motion control, etc. technology and applications (Rockwell or comparable platforms)


•    Two or more years’ hands-on experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment (electrical wiring, power systems, automation controllers)
•    Exposure to industrial Lockout Tag Out standards and best practices
•    Exposure to industrial Arch Flash standards and best practices


•    Flexibility for daily travel 75% - 90% is required 
•    Occasional overnight travel required for training and business meetings
