Job Description

We are looking for an Item & Vendor Database Spec. to join Gexpro Services in Greenville, SC!

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and respond to requests for part number and supplier creations in the ERP.  Acts as guardian and gatekeeper of item and supplier master data to ensure compliance with the designed master data/supplier template. Maintains consistency and alignment as changes and developments occur.
  • Interpret part drawings, technical data sheets, and descriptions in order to input accurate information into the ERP database utilizing the defined standards.
  • Conduct data cleansing to rid the ERP of old, unused, inaccurate or duplicative data.
  • Publish monthly reporting and metrics for key business stakeholders on ongoing project status, accuracy of the database and throughput of the item and vendor database team.
  • Create and maintain proper documentation of the methodology for the purpose of item code and supplier creation.
  • Assist in negotiation of terms during supplier approval process and assist in resolving disputes regarding payment terms during invoice processing.
  • Assist in updating supplier documents to current revisions for legacy suppliers.
  • Streamline the electronic storage of supplier approval documents by creating centralized storage and organizing legacy files. 
  • Assist Treasury department with updating tax forms as necessary.

  • Familiarity with item database and vendor database structures and relationships within the ERP
  • Strong attention to detail and superior organizational
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks at one time


  • Associates or Technical Degree or 2 years relevant work experience in database management or supply chain and industrial distribution
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Intermediate computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel. 
  • Effective communication skills with peers and service center personnel.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based ERPs, QAD preferred
