We are looking for a Lighting & Controls Product Specialist for Rexel USA in Capitol Heights, MD.

Mission for Lighting & Controls Project Manager & Rebate Specialist – Mid-Atlantic Region

Mid-Atlantic Region, Rexel Inc.

To manage projects for the regional lighting & controls (L&C) sales team interfacing with subcontractors, vendors and utility companies as needed from project award to project close (60%). To build select L&C projects, quantify utility rebates, process utility rebates pre & post project and manage general utility requirements for the various programs in which Rexel participates within the region (40%). This is primarily an inside project specialist support role, a detail oriented, well organized professional focused on formalizing and maintaining strict SOP standards for project management, project build and utility rebate applications while being the chief Rexel day-to-day representative on utility company interaction and on-site project management as needed.

2019 Year

  1. Manage all of the L&C jobs won by the regional L&C team from project award to project close approx. $3M in top line. PM will manage the various types of projects the L&C team may win, taking responsibility for all aspects of the project once turnover from the L&C specialist has been accomplished. Types of project may include:
    1. Material only projects.
    2. Material + utility rebate projects.
    3. Material + utility rebate projects including recycling, disposal & services to process tax deduction documentation.
    4. Material + utility rebate projects in which Rexel will “net bill” the customer and take the rebate post project completion.
    5. Turnkey projects in which Rexel will subcontract labor to a third party. PM will act as onsite PM representing Rexel in meetings and troubleshooting problems as needed up to a once weekly frequency.
    6. Combination of the various project types above.
  2. Act as chief Rexel day-to-day representative to the local utility companies maintaining overall participation compliance, processing applications for existing programs and ensuring clean management of non-POS instant rebate programs with BGE, PEPCO, SMECO, DELMARVA, PEPCO & PPL.
    1. Submit applications & manage service provider requirements for the prescriptive & customer rebate programs
    2. Submit applications & manage service provider requirements for small business rebate programs
    3. Process rebates pre & post project for all L&C based rebate jobs within region making sure BOM during project management meets utility requirements.
    4. Quantify rebates & build projects as needed for regional team on small & medium sized projects
  3. Formalize L&C team SOP’s related to project management of energy projects.
  4. Complete a study to determine if available L&C utility rebates can be incorporated into the new construction, bid market opportunities quoted by the project house group to win projects that could otherwise not be won or to win projects at a higher gross profit margin than would otherwise be available.
    1. Study must quantify the potential increase in GM$ & top line sales, determine the necessary resources & time that would need to be devoted to secure these rebates and conclude if actively bidding new construction L&C projects with utility rebates is both feasible and worthwhile.
    2. Study will be conducted in close coordination with the regional Sales Manager, Lighting and Controls and the regional project house team.
    3. Scope will be throughout the entire Mid-Atlantic region in territories that have existing incentive programs and in which we are currently engaged in bidding new construction L&C projects (MD, DC, PA, VA, W. VA & NJ).
    4. Depending on the results of this study and the necessary time demands of this potential activity and the other, more primary responsibilities of this role, the L&C PM & Rebate Specialist may take responsibility for incorporating rebates into our new construction L&C bid business.
