Job Description

We are seeking a Motor/Drives Specialist to join our Gexpro team in Houston, TX!


Major activities include reading specifications, creating product proposals and entering and managing orders.  Providing technical sales assistance, planning and coordinating/ implementing product promotions, training sales force and customers, and creating sales plans.

Essential responsibilities

  • Manage and create proposals for Motors and Drives.
  • Read specifications, unit wiring diagrams, and one-line drawings and converting these documents into Motor/Drive equipment lists using current pricing publications and software configuration aids.  Assemble customer proposals and enter orders.
  • Negotiate pricing with Motor and Drive manufacturers.
  • Assist in presentations of the proposal as necessary.
  • Maintain the office quotation reports and follow-up system.
  • Provide Pre-sale and post-sale product support.
  • Provide Motor /Drive application and product support for customers and Account Managers.
  • For orders entered, provide ongoing order management, including order scheduling, customer changes, and expediting and project management of large orders.
  • Assist Account Managers in preparing and presenting product demonstrations and seminars.
  • Ability to understand market conditions, competitive forces, determine market share and identify opportunities for growth
  • Ability to define and grow new markets for emerging product technologies

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related appropriate experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in sales, design, or project management with related products, preferably with emphasis on 600V Motor and Drive Applications.
  • The position will require some travel to support customers and branches in South Texas and Southern Louisiana.
