Job Description

We are seeking a Product Specialist to join our Rexel C&I team in Missouri City, TX!

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Selling products and projects through the national lighting magazine and all types of utility rebate programs.
  • Supporting the branch network through the coordination of education with manufacturer representatives and local lighting agencies.
  • New customer acquisition through cold calling and targeted accounts functions.
  • Branch liaison for all lighting and control projects.
  • Branch resource for questions and calls from both internal and external customers.
  • Selling products in any active midstream/ upstream programs through the use of vertical marketing tools and the national lighting magazine.
  • Participating in product meetings, seminars, and trainings to enhance and maintain personal and product knowledge to be superior over the competition.
  • Participating in improving operations by offering potential solutions to existing sales methods.
  • Generates product and price quotes as required.
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships
  • Communicates with customers and co-workers to provide continued lighting and control product and services information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Perform sales calls daily.
  • High knowledge level of lighting products and lighting applications including controls.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with C-level customers.
  • Ability to effectively articulate the Rexel light and controls the team value proposition to external and internal customers.
  • Strong social skills and interactions with all customer segments.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to research customer targets and execute on those customer targets
  • Intermediate/advanced computer skills, specifically with Excel/Outlook/Word
  • Knowledge of Snap Count audit software preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or eight years of outside sales in lighting retrofit projects.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and manage hard deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to drive purchasing decisions with influence.
  • Qualified applicants must be customer-oriented with strong interpersonal, communication, organization and problem-solving skills
