Assistant Accountant - Cambridge

Robert Half are currently working with a vibrant life sciences company developing systems for biological drug discovery who are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant.

Overview of role

Day to day duties of The Assistant Accountant will include but not be limited to:

  • Sales and purchase ledger processing
  • Reconcile company bank accounts
  • Collate and analyse account data and generate financial reports
  • Maintain internal control systems
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Comply with relevant reporting requirements
  • Prepare monthly VAT returns
  • Assist with budget preparation
  • Assist with audits
  • Maintain complete filing system to support financial records
  • Track and maintain inventory records
  • Assist the Financial Director with miscellaneous tasks

The ideal candidate Profile:

  • AAT qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience with Xero would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of data management and financial data analysis
  • Planning and organising skills along with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong Numeracy skills and the ability to work accurately and precisely.
  • Problem analysis skills along with the ability to communicate with various departments within the business
  • The ability to work confidentiality and with integrity

Salary & Benefits

Role of Assistant Accountant is paying up to 30k plus excellent benefits
