Robert Half Technology are currently working with a well-established client of ours based in the centre of Birmingham who are in search of a Data Analytics Manager specialising in Predictive Analytics. This role would suit an established a senior Data Scientist/Data Analyst who is looking to go into a management position.

Key Responsibilities of the Data Analytics Manager

  • Manage, mentor and develop a team of Data analysts; and promote the work of the team to the wider organisation.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement driven by analytics tools, transformation and automation of processes to meet business needs and drive efficiency. (Eg. Python, R, VBA, PowerBI, PowerApps, etc.)
  • Responsible for the control, development, delivery and training of PowerBI analytical reports for internal and external stakeholders. .
  • Deliver expertise around some of the following: statistical modeling; database modeling; structuring complex datasets in order to achieve robust data mining capability.
  • Proactively acquire data from various sources and analyse it to improve data quality and understanding for desired application and strategic direction of the contracting business.
  • Match the right techniques and outputs to business needs (this will be a critical part of your role) therefore the understanding of BI programmes and data science (which includes machine learning) and coding languages like Python, R, PowerApps will be beneficial.

Key Skills of the role:

  • Contribute towards developing, publishing and monitoring KPI's to measure success and efficiency, by cultivating an intimate knowledge of the metrics used to measure the business.
  • Make tactical recommendations to improve the Contracting team performance based on KPI's and data analysis, while helping the Senior leadership team stay focused on the best opportunities
  • Build a strong understanding of stakeholder requirements and translate these into deliverables.
  • Interact directly with multiple departments across the organisation, in order to deliver valuable business insight and areas of opportunity.
  • Participates in strategic supplier/members meetings as needed. .

Technical knowledge and skills:

  • Team leadership, ability and skill to manage, mentor and develop a team of Data analysts.
  • Strong project management skills is required.
  • Vision flow documentation creation experience.
  • Successful data and analytics transformation projects experience is required.
  • Strong Power Platform experience: PowerBI - Advanced DAX, Microsoft Flow and Power Apps.
  • Experience with Python/R coding is required * Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (VBA/Macros level) and T-SQL is required
  • Commercial experience with forecasting and statistical analysis is required.
  • Data mining tools and techniques experience (Descriptive, Predictive and Prescriptive analytics) is required.
  • Text mining (NLP) experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Open source BigData tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Rapidminer or other is highly desirable.
  • Salesforce (or other CRM package) knowledge highly desirable.

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills required.
  • Innovative and self-motivated.
  • Able to work autonomously.

  • Consistent demonstration of good organisation and time management.

Salary & Benefits:

£40,000 - £50,000 & additional benefits

The salary range/rates of pay is dependent upon your experience, qualifications or training.
