The role of the Senior Infrastructure Engineer:

• Planning, installation, upgrade, operation, control and maintenance of the server infrastructure.
• Respond to requests for support.
• Make modifications to configurations,
• Develop workarounds or site-specific enhancements,
• Reconfigure systems,
• Change operating procedures,
• Train users or operations staff where relevant
• Ensure all support work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures.
• Review performance statistics and advise on current and future capacity issues.
• Monitor application systems/servers by regular scrutiny of reports
• Carry out defined backup of data and then restore data where appropriate
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of business recovery plans.

Skill required for the Senior Infrastructure Engineer:

Soft skills:

• Ability to chair meetings and lead change projects
• Act as an SME within the company for all escalations and general infrastructure queries
• Previous experience producing high level designs within an Enterprise Infrastructure environment.

Technical skills:

• VMware vSphere installation and management experience
• Enterprise-grade shared storage
• Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
• Experience administering Office 365/ Azure/ Amazon Web Services platforms
• Microsoft Exchange 2013/2016
• Experience with enterprise-grade email/web hygiene tools
• Multi-domain Active Directory/DNS/DHCP/Group Policy administration experience

The Reward to the Senior Infrastructure Engineer:

This role pays between £36,000-£44,500 per annum plus 26% pension, flexible working, 28/30 days holiday, health plan and additional benefits.
