Senior Paraplanner - Greater Manchester

Role

As a Senior Paraplanner your role is to ensure the quality and standard of financial services reports produced is of a professional standard and the highest quality.

This is a technical function that supports and informs the work of Financial Advisors and Financial Planners in all areas of finance, including pensions, mortgages, general insurance, tax and investment management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Commercial Manager when updating and rolling out report templates
  • To keep abreast of industry knowledge, update the team and implement into any relevant report templates
  • To undertake peer report checks
  • To arrange report feedback sessions with report writers, paraplanners and consultants to ensure development needs and learning objectives met
  • Assist the Commercial Manager with training on report writing
  • Assist the Commercial Manager with ensuring team have relevant technical and regulatory knowledge to prepare client reports
  • Sit on the Investment Committee and communicate decisions to report writers
  • Training and support of more Report Writers, Graduates and Consultant Support with assistance of Commercial Manager.
  • Assisting the Financial Advisor/Planner in establishing new client relationships and servicing existing Clients
  • Carrying out research and analysing products and services that are appropriate to each client's financial circumstances
  • Proposing and drafting reports / letters outlining financial solutions that meet each client's goals, needs and objectives
  • Developing productive working relationships with colleagues and clients throughout the financial services environment, both within and outside of the employing organisation
  • Updating client records utilising internal systems, primarily Intelligent Office and Enable

Profile

  • Excellent interpersonal, listening and numerical skills
  • Analytical and research skills
  • Report writing and clear written communication skills, pension protection, investments
  • Professional, ethical and discreet
  • Effective time and caseload management
  • Confidence using IT, database packages and IFA back office systems
  • Experience of transfer of assets
  • Understanding of risk profilers
  • Use of cashflow modellers
  • Experience of business processing
  • Use of analysis tools such as FinEx/Distribution Technology or similar is desirable
  • Use of research tools such as The Exchange/ Synaptics/Selectapension or similar Financial Services is desirable
  • Use of client management systems such as Intelligent Office (iO), Enable or similar is desirable

Qualifications and Training

  • QCA level 4 or above qualification in Financial Services, such as CII
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD and personal training and development

Salary: £35-45k (depending on experience)
