HERE’S THE JOB DESCRIPTION:
Title: Associate Scientist 
Pay Rate: DOE
Location: Thousand Oaks, CA 91320
Length: 1 year contract + possible extension

Description:

  • Ideal candidate- BS or MS with 2+ years of direct experience in raw materials analysis. Strong laboratory analytical skills, including routine testing as well as the design and execution of scientific experiments and interpretation of results. Experience in developing, qualifying, and/or validating analytical methods. Experience and/or knowledge in Raw Materials analysis a plus; Experience and/or knowledge in HPLC/MS/spectroscopy a plus; Experience and/or knowledge in compendial methods a plus.

Job Description:

  • Plans and executes analytical experiments in support of method development and qualification for the analysis of raw materials used in manufacturing biotherapeutics.

Day to day Responsibilities:

  • Follows established experimental design and protocols and performs routine tasks and studies to obtain reproducible and reliable results with limited supervision.
  • Conducts, analyzes and records experiments, and provides interpretation of data of routine testing.
  • Performs method development and qualification studies with moderate supervision.
  • Develops and implements new methods with supervision.

Basic Qualifications:

  • M.S degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Science, Materials Science, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Physics or related disciplines, OR
  • B.S. degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Science, Materials Science, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Physics or related disciplines with 2+ years directly relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of direct experience in raw materials analysis
  • Strong laboratory analytical skills, including routine testing as well as the design and execution of scientific experiments and interpretation of results
  • Experience in developing, qualifying, and/or validating analytical methods.
  • Experience and/or knowledge in Raw Materials analysis a plus; Experience and/or knowledge in HPLC/MS/spectroscopy a plus; Experience and/or knowledge in compendial methods a plus;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other scientists on multidisciplinary, cross-functional teams
