Position Title: Ergonomics Engineer General #275007
Rate: $44.50/hr
Location: Dearborn, MI 48124
Duration: 1 year contract + possible extension and / or hire

Position Description:
Single point of contact for specified program team(s) for the Ergonomic Attribute. For assigned program, assure full compliance to ergonomic requirements by working with Design Studio, Design and Release activates, and Vehicle Engineering activities to meet program targets. Provide input on HMI / HCI with respect to customer usability of User Interfaces. Participate in user research and conduct clinics to assess the usability of various HMI proposals. Participate in research and synthesize findings into actionable insights. Assist in developing program targets, assumptions and new vehicle features by identifying ergonomics' needs and wants through the use of detailed benchmarking and the application of ergonomic standards and principles. Drive solutions to raised ergonomic concerns by LEADING cross-functional teams while ensuring designs are compatible with Customer wants, attribute targets, Corporate requirements, Service, Assembly, etc Assist with the development of Package-Ergonomics processes, guidelines, standards and cross-vehicle recommendations. Provide input to, and signoff on graphics for controls and displays. Assist with evaluation of controls and displays for Driver Distraction using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop as required.

Skills Required:
MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint Minitab or equivalent Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

Skills Preferred:
Ford program experience and knowledge of GPDS, eFDVS, Feasibility, Checkpoint (FC) Process, and other program driven processes.

Experience Required:
0-5 years

Experience Preferred:
3-5 preferred years experience with User Interface testing

Education Required:
BS Degree specializing in Human Factors/ Ergonomics is required. (Would also consider Industrial Engineering with concentration in Ergonomics and Human Factors.)

Education Preferred:
MS in Human Factors
