Job Description

Position Title: PLC Maintenance Supervisor #272030 - 3 Openings 
Rate: Up to $30.00/hr 
Location: Chicago, IL 60633 - Modification Center
Duration: 4 month contract + possible extension and / or hire

*Previous experience in PLC maintenance is required.  
*Must be flexible to work all shifts on a rotational basis. Shifts will change throughout the year based on production needs. 
*Shift preference will be considered but will not guarantee placement in desired shift. 

Position Description:

• Enforce compliance with Safety Operating System practices to include, but not limited to: Combustion Safety; Energy Lockout; Pedestrian and Vehicle Safety; Working at Heights; Pre-Task Analysis (PTA); and licensing and safety training requirements
• Perform safety inspections using corporate tools (OHSIM, MSS, SPRB) and conduct safety talks
• Identify and insure that safety hazards and unsafe practices are promptly corrected
• Complete 100% of mandated FAS08 PMs at the prescribed frequency
• Communication and Recognition
• Drive Continuous Improvement through a focused maintenance program designed to reduce scrap and ensure reliability of error-proofing devices
• Maintain automation in a state of compliance with specifications, fit, form, and contamination standards
• Lead skilled trades/maintenance personnel to evaluate controls requirements for maintaining and improving production yields, throughput, and up time
• Responsible for monitoring day-to-day production processes, tooling, and operations related to automation equipment
• Analyze equipment performance and work to improve efficiencies; actively participate in Constraint Review Process
• Ensure equipment start-up readiness for production
• Work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision

Skills Required:
• Ability to demonstrate leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills

Skills Preferred:
• Fundamental working knowledge of PLC logic and controls
• Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms safety, quality, and throughput
• Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
• Assembly experience
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
• Knowledge of constraint management principles

Experience Required:
• 3+ years technical work experience and troubleshooting in a Manufacturing environment
• 1+ years Microsoft Office experience to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Experience Preferred:
- 5+ years technical work experience and troubleshooting in an automotive Manufacturing environment Safety and Quality experience
- Prior experience managing a unionized work force

Education Required:
High School diploma/GED

Education Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Additional Information:
Selected candidates will be assigned to one of three crews : A-crew: Mon-Thur, 6am-4:30pm B-crew: Tues-Fri, 6pm-4:30am C-Crew: Fri-Sat 6am-4:30pm, Sun-Mon 6pm-4:30am
