Manages one or more non-technical projects within the constraints of scope, quality, time, and cost, to deliver specified requirements. Responsibilities may include resource allocation and all phases of development life cycle (i.e. feasibility study, requirements, analysis, ROI, business plan, design testing, and implementation planning). Regularly interacts with management. Coordinates and directs the activities of project team members. Ensures all project requirements and/or objectives are documented. Generally has 6-10 years experience.

The Information Systems Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of the project over the entire life (initiate, plan, execute, control, close), including assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of project.

The Information Systems Project Manager may communicate with Senior Project Manager, Functional Area Manager or Program Manager regarding status of specific projects.

The Information Systems Project Manager must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.

The Information Systems Project Manager's project profile responsibility will be able to manage moderate to large projects.

The Information Systems Project Manager will manage projects that have: a development cost range of $250,000 to $999,999; have a team size of 5 to 10 members; are a duration from 1 to 11 months; a moderately aggressive timeline; a medium risk level assessment; an enterprise span of impact to an organization; many interfaces; a geographic span of up to two regions; 1 - 5 functional disciplines/stakeholders; many sub-projects; use primarily existing means to achieve goals with primarily existing or moderately modified levels of innovation; and with moderately defined project scope definition.

Execute project plan and the tasks as defined in the project plan in order to achieve the project goals.

Manages changes to project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques in order to keep the project plan accurate, updated, reflective of authorized project changes as defined in the change management plan and facilitate customer acceptance.

Monitor and control project work by measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques in order to monitor the progress of the project, identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders.

Communicate the project plan and ensure a common understanding by setting expectations in accordance with the Project Plan, in order to align the stakeholders and team members.  Implement the approved actions and workaround required to mitigate project risk events in order to minimize the impact of the risks on the project.

Establish project deliverables and record detailed customer requirements, constraints and assumptions with stakeholders in order to establish the project deliverables, using requirements gathering techniques (e.g. planning sessions, brainstorming, focus groups) and the project charter.

Conduct kick-off meeting with all key stakeholders in order to announce the start of the project and review the overall project plan and gain consensus.

Implement approved actions and workarounds required to mitigate project risk events in order to minimize the impact of the risks on the project.

Manage risk monitoring and control by possessing the ability to implement the approved actions and workarounds required to mitigate project risk events in order to minimize the impact of the risks on the project.

Establish and maintain constructive and cooperative interpersonal working relationships with others.

As necessary, any other related duties to aid in the success of the organization.
