Title
: Research Associate 
Pay: DOE
Location: Thousand Oaks, CA 91320
Duration: 1 year contract + possible extension
** On-site, M-F **

Job Description:

  • This role will be responsible for supporting the Therapeutic Discovery organization and our key internal clients by ensuring a consistent and traceable supply of critical monoclonal antibody research reagents that directly advance our therapeutic pipeline.

The successful candidate will:

  • Perform complete physical inventories of reagent cell line liquid nitrogen stocks
  • Culture hybridoma and other mammalian cells, establish new frozen cell line stocks, analyze the secreted monoclonal antibodies for expression and antigen specific binding, and generate cDNA for select clones for sequencing
  • Familiarity/experience executing ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western Blotting, FACS, RT-PCR preferred
  • Maintain accurate and thorough electronic records of all cell lines and experiments performed
  • Register critical reagent attributes into electronic large molecule tracking data systems
  • Function as a key member of a cross-site, cross-functional multidisciplinary team
  • Apply project management skills and scientific acumen to execute efficient and effective experimental workflows

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Life Sciences or related technical discipline.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a biological laboratory environment.

Ideal candidate:

  • Detail orientated as they will be going through spreadsheets and required to transfer information from one system to another correctly
  • Basic lab skills, at least 1 full year working in a lab. This can be in the academic environment, a commercial lab but it's preferred to be a biology lab

Top Must Have Skill Set:

  • Mammalian cell culture experience, preferably including hybridomas
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Strong use of Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, One Note, etc) and proven ability to interact with multiple computer/database registry systems
