HERE’S THE JOB DESCRIPTION:
Title
: Scientist 
Pay: up to $33.50/hr
Location: Thousand Oaks, CA 91320
Duration: 1 year contract + possible extension

Job Summary:

  • Ideal candidate: PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Materials Science, Biochemistry, Biochemical or Chemical Engineering. Strong hands-on experience in operating and troubleshooting HPLC/UPLC, LC/MS, GC, GC-Headspace, GC/MS, FT-IR, dissolution etc. Experience in analytical testing requirements for small molecule drug substance and drug products. Solid understanding of small molecule analysis, structure elucidation and solid-state characterization.
  • Candidates should have at least: MS degree with 4 years of scientific experience in chemistry. Strong hands-on experience in operating and troubleshooting HPLC/UPLC, LC/MS, GC, GC-Headspace, GC/MS, FT-IR, dissolution etc. Experience in analytical testing requirements for small molecule drug substance and drug products. Solid understanding of small molecule analysis, structure elucidation and solid-state characterization.
  • We are currently seeking a contract worker for a Scientist position - Analytical Chemist in our Pivotal Attribute Sciences Department in Thousand Oaks, CA. This group is responsible for late phase analytical development, including method development, method validation, method transfer, process and product development support, and GMP testing of late phase drug substances and drug products.
  • The Scientist will work closely with a team of analysts and scientists responsible for the technical aspects of developing the analytical tools to gain understanding of key attributes in product and process for late phase synthetic programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Materials Science, Biochemistry, Biochemical or Chemical Engineering
  • Master’s degree with 4 years of scientific experience in chemistry
  • Experience in analytical testing requirements for small molecule drug substance and drug products
  • Solid understanding of small molecule analysis, structure elucidation and solid-state characterization
  • Solid understanding of current ICH/FDA and GMP guidelines
  • Excellent technical writing skills and attention to details in authoring methods, specifications, technical reports and regulatory filing documents
  • Excellent in communication of data and reports in both oral and written formats
  • Highly self-motivated, responsible, productive and results-oriented professional

Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience in operating and troubleshooting HPLC/UPLC, LC/MS, GC, GC-Headspace, GC/MS, FT-IR, dissolution etc.
  • Method development and validation for determination of the purity/impurities of drug substance and drug product for GMP studies
  • Impurities structure elucidation using Spectroscopy and Chromatographic techniques and NMR
  • Method development/validation of trace organic impurities analysis using chromatographic techniques

Top Must Have Skill Set:

  • PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Materials Science, Biochemistry, Biochemical or Chemical Engineering or Master’s degree with 4 years of scientific experience in chemistry
  • Experience in analytical testing requirements for small molecule drug substance and drug products
  • Strong hands-on experience in operating and troubleshooting HPLC/UPLC, LC/MS, GC, GC-Headspace, GC/MS, FT-IR, dissolution etc.
