Title: Sr. Labor and Employee Relations Representative
Pay: up to $62.50/hr
Location: Los Angeles, CA 90033
Length: Temp to Hire
 (The selected candidate is expected to become a direct after about 3 months)
Parking: Paid by employee

Job Summary:

This is a very high profile Dept. This person will be supporting the Perioperative Dept / Clinical Roles (so from admitting to discharge). Someone who is experienced in Healthcare will be more successful in this role as they can transition easier. 

Some of the main elements of the role this person will see and be supporting is FMLA, harassment allegations. Must be strong with CA Labor Laws and EEOC. 

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s Degree required; preferably in Human Resource Management, or Business related field.

Master’s Degree preferred. 

Minimum Experience:

3-5 years’ experience in Employee and/or Labor Relations required.  

Prior experience in a health care industry preferred.

Proficient verbal/written communication skills.  

Skill in writing concise, clear, relevant and persuasive documents, including correspondence, case analyses, investigative reports, settlement agreements.

Proficient in MS Office and applicable computer applications. 

Strong organizational, analytical/critical thinking, presentation and creative skills.  

Experience with unions and conducting employee investigations required.

Knowledge of employment laws, including FMLA/CFRA, Reasonable Accommodation, VAWA/CANRA, HIPAA, HEERA, FLSA/wage-hour laws, contract interpretation, EEOC/DFEH/DOJ requirements.

Experience in conducting investigations of harassment allegations, including sexual harassment, hostile work environment, discrimination, HIPAA, workplace behavior.

Ability to provide credible HR guidance to and influence management at all levels.

Proven experience coaching and counseling all levels of staff and management on a wide variety of employee/labor relations issues. Experience in interviewing employees and managers and investigating unit and non-unit employee-related situations.

Required License/Certifications:

SHRM Certification preferred.

Fire and Safety Certification required.  If employee does not have current Fire and Safety card upon hire one must be obtained within 30 days of the start date and maintained by renewal before the expiration date.
